Introduction: London was awarded the 2012 Games on the back of one of the most ambitious promises in Olympic bidding history - inspiring children across the world to take up sport. London 2012 is more than just winning medals with the true legacy being about increasing participation but how do we achieve this and how do we engage schools, sports clubs and above all else the children into becoming more interested in sports and activity inside and outside of the schools gates. Gunpowder Media and Sports Fund, set-up to help schools engage all pupils in sport using Sports Search, gathered 14 leading experts to discuss this and other issues about the legacy and future of grassroots sports from sports teachers to governing bodies to sports club.
